That's an arduous journey, ISRO. Congratulations!!

During their initial days when infrastructure was not available they have made use of cycles to ferry their rockets. They converted a church into control room, the bishop’s house as office, a bicycle to ferry rockets and naked eyes to track the smoke plume at Thumba in Kerala.  They even converted a Toilet into a data receiving centre for their first satellite aryabhata at Bangalore.

The Indian space odyssey has come a long way to launching lunar probes, working on a mars mission and ferrying foreign satellites up for a fee. Today they have successfully launched their 100th mission.

I am extremely proud to have designed some of their outsourced  onboard double layered PCB's(between 92-94) for  ISTRAC, SAC and VSSC.

That's an arduous journey, ISRO.  Two thumbs up to your space odyssey and Congratulations on the milestone.

    1. I am a miniscule fry like an atom connected to that organization from outside. My boss came out of ISRO to start a business of designing PCB's and i worked with that set up. Due to his contacts he has able to design PCB's(printed circuit boards). And, i and my colleagues got a chance to design some of the work and go to these places. Many companies like micropack do today. So not a very big deal. But, still the moment ISRO is mentioned, memories of these works come to my mind. i am proud to have met some of their engineers and gone to these places on work but that was in the period 1992-94.

  3. Congratulations, for being a part of this great event!
Indeed we have come along way. We could be doing better if only we had a dedicated government without corruption at every level to take us to new heights of glory.

  4. I am not associated with this event. Like i mentioned to Ramesh it was in the period of 1992-94, my company had been outsourced to design PCBs. Many companies must have been involved like that. off late, though i think only Micropack does it.

We have come a long way indeed... from ferrrying on cycles to ferrying foreign satellites for a fee. Thanks to the dedicated team we are able to avail the satellite services today in many spheres of life.
